92, of Hilo died Oct. 27 the at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was a retired crane operator for the former Hilo Iron Works and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Kilauea Ward), Mauka Waiakea Houselots Association Kumiai, AARP and Hui Aloha Chapter No. 655. Friends may call 8:30-10:30 Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hilo Stake Center, 1373 Kilauea Ave. Service at 11 a.m. Casual attire and burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section). Survived by son, Theron (Charlotte) Manning of New York; daughters, Barbara Manning and Gaylene (Aldon) Nako of Hilo; sisters, Hattie Ashley of North Carolina, Ethel Cook of Maryland and Eleanor Hatakenaka of Hilo; brother, David Manning of Honolulu; brother in-law, Daniel Santos of Papaikou; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
